Ground Turkey Pasta

Dairy free cream sauce

Ingredients

pad of butter (cashew or cow) half a yellow onion seasoned salt & pepper .8lb ground turkey, 93% lean ~1/3 cup flour 1.5 cups extra creamy oat milk generous shake of Mushroom umami seasoning pinch of red pepper flakes oregano herb de provence half box of Cavatappi

Directions

Boil water for pasta. In large fry pan or wide saucepan, melt butter and sauté onions on medium heat with garlic powder, season salt, and season pepper until translucent and starting to turn golden. Add turkey, stiring frequently until fully opaque and starting to brown. Sprinkle flour and mix together. Add more butter if it doesn't incorporate well. Add pasta to boiling water. Stir milk into saucepan. Add umami, red pepper flakes, and herbs. Let simmer to thicken. Once hot, optionally add fresh graded parmesan. Add extra salt to taste as it thickens. When pasta is al dente, drain and return to pot. Pour sauce on top and mix in. Let sit for a minute on low heat, then serve immediately.
